WARRANTY, REPAIRS & PRODUCT CARE

WARRANTY (JEWELLERY):

All Porter jewellery comes with a 6-month manufacturing warranty which covers manufacturing defects only. These issues would include defects relating to clasp mechanisms, loss of gems, snapped earring posts. Issues relating to general wear and tear are NOT covered by warranty, e.g. fading of gold, scratching, loss of jewellery, chain breakage, misshaping of jewellery due to mishandling, plating issues caused by exposure to salt water and chlorine.

Your warranty comes into effect on the date of purchase.

To lodge a warranty claim, please contact customerservice@porterjewellery.com with the below details:

  • Name

  • Order number

  • Email address and phone number associated with purchase

  • Product fault

  • Image/video depicting the specified product fault (we cannot approve warranty claims without any physical or visual assessment of the product)

Warranty claims can also be initiated in-store at our Bondi Beach boutique. Store staff will assist you in filling out a claim form which will be handed over to our customer care team for assessment. Please note any items brought in-store that falls outside of warranty period or under general wear and tear will be rejected and will not be handed over to customer care.

WARRANTY (WATCHES):

All Porter watches come with a 12-month manufacturing warranty which covers manufacturing defects only. These issues would include defects relating to clasp mechanisms, glass falling out (not due to mishandling ie; smashing of glass), snapped watch band, watch hand coming loose. Issues relating to general wear and tear are NOT covered by warranty, e.g. fading of gold, scratching, loss of jewellery, plating issues caused by exposure to salt water and chlorine. Expose to water ie shower, ocean, chlorine will void your watch warranty.

REPAIRS

Porter offers free repairs where applicable on all products. Our in-house jewellers are able to repair loose clasping mechanisms on earrings, huggies, specific bracelets, and bangles.

Customers are liable for freight costs associated with returning your item back to us, and we will cover freight to get your repaired item back to you.

Products needing repair can also be dropped in-store at our Bondi Beach boutique. Store staff will assist you in filling out a repairs form which will be handed over to our repairs team.

PRODUCT CARE (JEWELLERY)

Care Instructions & Tips:

-

Our jewellery can be worn in the shower, and when washing your hands, however wear in salt water and chlorine should be avoided. Exposure to the ocean and pools, as well as other harsh chemicals such as moisturisers, perfumes, hair sprays, make-up etc. These chemicals can be extremely damaging to your jewellery and will accelerate the timeframe in which it may lose its brightness. Exposure to these chemicals will also void your manufacturing warranty.

Our best advice - putting your jewellery on should be the last step in your getting-ready routine!

Please avoid storing your jewellery in warm, damp environments e.g. your bathroom. It should be kept in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

We recommend gently polishing your jewellery with a microfibre or jewellery-polishing cloth between wears. For a deeper clean, you can follow the below steps:

-

  1. Mix a small amount of dish soap with lukewarm water

  2. Soak your jewellery in the mixture for 5 minutes

  3. Use a soft cloth to gently polish the surface

  4. Rinse your jewellery in fresh water and a clean soft cloth (do not use paper towel as this can scratch the surface of your jewellery)

Our watches at Porter are water-resistant (this is splash-proof ie: washing of hands). Swimming/emersion in water is not recommended and will void the watches manufacturing warranty. Exposure to the ocean and pools, as well as other harsh chemicals such as moisturisers, perfumes, hair sprays, make-up etc will damage your watches. These chemicals can be extremely damaging to the plating and will accelerate the timeframe in which it may lose its brightness. Exposure to these chemicals will void your manufacturing warranty.

If you struggle to resize your watch you can take your piece to a local key cutter who can easily and quickly remove the links generally at a small charge.
